"Val!" A shriek flew out of Mable, and Valeriel turned around just in time to catch the flying halfing in an attack hug. "How are you! I missed you super duper much!"\n\nVal leaned back a little bit but Mable was still clinging on to her and so she moved with her as well, "I'm good, Mable. How are you?" They both let go from the overly long hug.\n\n"Oh my goodness, Val. I've been great! I spent the time between moons with my dad and brothers like usual but I was so bored! I don't know what I used to do before I started coming to Avalon, I just can't wait until I come back as soon as I get home! I miss everyone here so much all the time," Mable continues to rattle on and Val smiles and nods slowly as Mable's talking continues to build up steam and just doesn't ever seem to stop. "But, I have to go find everyone I'm staying with! It was super duper seeing you again, Val."\n\n[[Enter the inn, but trip up the stairs first|Inn2]]
Our story starts with the young Mable Wishmaker in her family bakery. To those of you who don't know who Mable Wishmaker is, she is a very cheery halfling who skips about far too often. To fully understand the hilarity and innocence that is Mable, you must first picture what she wears. This tiny little halfling wears a pastel pink dress covered in buttons and patches, now you would think that there were holes in her dress because of how many patches there are, but the thing is that there aren't any holes at all actually! She has sewn patches on her dress because they look "cute and adorable" as she says. Not only does she wear this dress, but she also wears these brightly colored rainbow socks, which makes her stand out ever so brightly, but as if that isn't enough she wears a sheer pink scarf and a lilac flower tucked into one of her low pony tails. Her face is flushed pink at all times, it seems that smiling constantly has caused it to have a warm and joyful glow.\n\nShe lives in a small and cozy bakery known as the Wishmaker Bakery with her five older brothers and her father. But this isn't where the story takes place, although it is where it begins. [[Skip off to Avalon|Skipping]]
Mable's eyes are practically sewn shut, I doubt anyone could pry them open. The stomping grew louder and broke apart into the sound of dozens of feet, as opposed to something large. Seriously Mable, you're not going to look? Okay fine, the parading feet stopped.\n\n"Well look what we have here," a gruff voice says, a smirk could practically be heard through their speach.\n\nThe air felt in suspense. Not one Avalonian was breathing.\n\nGaren exhaled, "Demons," the word was spat from his lips as though it were venomous itself.\n\n[[Open your eyes|Open]] or [[Keep them shut|Shut]]
A shriek of laughter comes out from the two halflings as Mable pounced on her from behind shouting "Annabelle!" They both smile and give proper hugs and continue along to Avalon, chattering along the way about buttons and snacks and what they had just had for second supper.\n\nThe two reach the inn rather quickly and Mable sees some of her friends and gives out a shriek out delight and runs up to hug them. [[Hug the Outlander|Garen]] or [[Hug the Elf|Val]]
A smile exploded upon Mable's face. She ran over to a table where a few of elves and others were gathered. "Hello everyone!" Mable sang out.\n\n"Hi, Mable"\n\n"Hello, Mable"\n\n"Oh, there you are, Mable"\n\nThe smile spread across her face and softer smiles started to form on the others faces, "So, whatcha guys dooooin'?"\n\n"We're trying to get together a ward for this moon, do you happen to have a silver to contribute?" Daratris asked Mable softly.\n\n"Of course!" Mable pulled a sock out of her back and fished around in there until she pulled out a silver and handed it over, "There ya go!" Mable looked around at everyone and counted who was there. She lifted up her hands and started counting, "Daratris.... Illius.... Fen.... Joeri..... Sonya.... Hey guys! We should go on a patrol soon! We can probably get Garen and Val to come with us too!"\n\n"Mable it probably isn't a good idea..." Sonya said, in her thick Romani accent.\n\n[[Beg, beg lots and lots|Beg]]
Really? Keeping your eyes closed even though you know there are demons? Fine, okay.\n\nShe can hear the sound of movement all around her. Mable tugged on Garen's cape and hid her face in it, "I think they're everywhere," she mumbled into the fur.\n\nShe felt the brushing of capes hitting her as everyone turned around. The air fell still.\n\n"Well then, what do I see here... A mage... A mage... oh boy, another mage! Three poking sticks, and a piece of candy. I wonder which I want to take out first." the first gruff voice questioned. Mable could practically feel its eyes burrowing into her skull as she hid behind Garen.\n\n"You realize you have to go through the angry magic resistant wrapper first, right?" Came a reply from Garen.\n\n[[Now will you open your eyes?|Eyes]]
She yanked her arm out of Sonya's grasp and pushed her way through the mages behind her and went to run straight back to the inn when she was face to face with a demon. This demon had the most squggles (ahem, runes) Mable had ever seen on a demon up close.\n\n"Hello," he smiled. His teeth seemed too white and pure for such a foul being. Mable stumbled back into Illius, who was at the rear of the group. The small party all turned and faced the outside, forming a circle with their backs. They were surrounded, but Mable was already in their grasp. The demons fingers trailed across her shoulders, "now now, don't be so scared." A flash of silver, like the moon reflecting off a blade, and then the greatest pain she had ever felt. And then nothing.
Mable bounded up the stairs and her foot slipped off of the first step and she landed face first on the steps. Val looks at her warily, but Mable bounced right back up and smiled brightly and continued up to the stairs, but spread her arms out like she was walking across a balancing beam.\n\nUpon entering the Five Lions Inn a feeling just washed over Mable. She could not physically hold back a smile if she tried (not that she would want to try). A feeling of joy spilled out of the inn as everyone greeted each other and hugs were exchanged. Mable stopped in the doorway and a lost look settled upon her face. [[Greet the Elves|Elves]]
Mable peered above Garen's shoulder. They were completely surrounded by demons. She could clearly see at least two or three had faces covered in squiggles (ahem, runes), but it was dark and so many more stood in the shadows.\n\n"AVALOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!" Mable cried.\n\nThe air grew colder, the expressions on the demons changed to amused, "You think the silly little heros can save you now?"\n\nGaren pointed his sword forward and took a fighting stance, his lead was followed quickly by Fen and Jorei. Even this small motion rallied the mages, to which you could see their most powerful spells dancing on their lips, ready to be cast at any moment.\n\n"I say, we cast a a flare and then run through the opening they make, da?" Sonya whispered to the group.\n\n"It's the best we've got," Illius mumbled back.\n\n"I summon forth an Eldritch Flare!" Sonya cast the spell directly at a small group of demons blocking the path back to the inn. The demons scurry out of the way.\n\n[[Run through the opening|opening]] or [[Buy them time?|time]]
Mable's Misadventure
"Heeeeeeeeeeeeey Garen! Patrol!" She grabbed onto his shoulder and started to bounce up and down, "Patrol, patrol, patrol, patrol!"\n\nGaren was speaking to someone that Mable doesn't know and both of them looked rather irritated from Mable's singing and so Garen turned to Mable and told her, "In a minute Mable, calm down."\n\nMable immedietly let go and stood there and rocked back and forth on her feet until he finished talking. Garen then picked up his shield and attached it. "Now we can go?" Mable asked hopfully.\n\n"Yes, now we can go." Garen affirmed.\n\n"PAAATROOOOOL!" Mable cheered, she punched the air in her excitment.\n\n[[Patrol time!|Patrol]]
Mable ran with everyone else through the opening formed from the flare. The group ran up the hill and ran straight into a large group of people in the dark.\n\n"Mable!" Wryn shrieked, she hugged Mable tightly.\n\n"Wryn! Wryn! We can't stay here there are-" Mable was cut off.\n\n"Oh look, more play things." A demon came over the hill, his face was covered in marks, his body the deepest blue ever seen, and just upon looking at him you felt a shiver run down your spine, as though he had icy tendrils running down your spine and wrapping around you until there wasn't an ounce of warmth left.\n\nThere are no words that could describe the combat had between the Heroes of Avalon and these demons. But it can be said, they truly earned the name Heroes of Avalon.
"Please! Please please pleaseeeee!" Mable clasped her hands together and made big puppy eyes at Sonya.\n\n"Oh, fine I will go with you, but we should bring more fighters, da?" Sonya exhaled.\n\nWryn stormed over and threw her hand on Sonya's shoulder, "Sonya, Ivory is drunk already. I can't handle her on my own. Oh, hi Mable." Mable looked very confused. "Ivory got another times nine alcohol."\n\nUpon hearing that Daratris let out a moan, "Agaaaiiin?"\n\nMable just stood there in the middle as everyone debated what to do about Ivory being so drunk. Words like assualt and crime and purifying blood were thrown around. Mable crossed her arms and an impaitent look came across her face. She turned around and walked away form the bickering group.\n\n"Ah, Mable! Where you going? I thought we were going on da patrol!" Sonya called after, disrupting the arguing.\n\n"I wanna go noooooow!" Mable stopped her foot.\n\n"We go now then," Sonya walked over to Mable and gave a look to the rest of the group as though they were babysitting a small child (going on patrols with Mable always felt like that as she can't even defend herself). Slowly they all followed through and they all walked out of the inn leaving a very frustrated Wryn behind.\n\n"I guess I'll take care of it myself?" Wryn questioned.\n\n[[Skip down the stairs, CAREFULLY|Stairs]]
A breeze floats around the group, "Now, you all look so scared, just as you should be." A roar of laughter erupted around the party. They all froze, and one by one they all turned and looked around, slowly they formed a small circle where Mable somehow ended up in the middle. She turned her head around and around looking at all the demons, there were so many. So many she couldn't count them all.\n\n"Garen, Garen we should run away," Mable tugged on his furry cape. The fear in her voice was evident. "Or, or we should really call for Avalon, we're..."\n\n"AVALON!" Garen bellowed, "Feel better, Mable?" She held back tears and bit her lip and gave a weak mumble. The front demon, the one staring Garen down, stepped forward, a big grin plastered across his face.\n\n"What do I see here... A mage... A mage... oh boy, another mage! Three poking sticks, and a piece of candy. I wonder which I want to take out first." Mable froze in her place, and stared straight at this demon thing. "I think I want the candy first."\n\nSuddenly it felt as though ice water was being poured into her very being. It was filling her up. Everything was going in slow motion, everyone turned to look at her, sorrow evident on their faces.
"Aaaaannnaaaaabeeeeellleeeee~!" Mable sang out cheerfully. Annabelle turned around and smiled brightly upon seeing a familiar face. Annabelle reached out and linked arms with Mable and the two walked in step to Avalon together discussing all the little things they were excited to do or see upon reaching the Five Lions Inn.\n\nThe two reach the inn rather quickly and Mable sees some of her friends and gives out a shriek out delight and runs up to hug them. [[Hug the Outlander|Garen]] or [[Hug the Elf|Val]]
They walked away form the inn, they being Mable, Garen, Fen, Illius, Daratris, Jorei, and Sonya. Garen stopped the party right in front of the path leading out passed the Merchants Guild. "Who do we have that are warriors?" Garen looked around and grumbled as he noticed there was only Fen and Jorei that could really fight. "Jorei, Fen, one of you on each side. Mage," Garen paused and rolled his eyes as he turned around, "Keep an eye on the sides and back."\n\n"Where do you want me, Garen?" Mable asked quietly.\n\n"Just sort of stay in the middle, okay? And stay close," Garen said as he began to lead everyone off.\n\nMable pulled her arms in and gave a firm little nod to the ground and quickly followed behind Garen, trying to stay close but not too close. The small party was rather loud for being so few in numbers, which would really lead to their downfall because you never go on patrol and be loud. Come on, it's like one of the first lessons ever. But anyways, Garen stops walking and pulls out his sword, everyone else follows suite and prepares for battle, everyone growing tense becuase of the sound of stomping feet coming closer and closer.\n\n[[Wait, Mable why are your eyes closed?|Closed]]
"Oh my gosh! Garen!" Mable shouts and runs up to the very fluffy Outlander. She gives him a great big hug, where they both smile.\n\n"How are you, Mable?" Garen asks as he lets go from their hug.\n\n"Oh, I've been super fantasitc! You know, how it is. I spent the time since last moon with my dad and brothers and it was so fun but I missed all you guys so much! I can hardly remember what I used to do before I started coming to Avalon!" The words spill out of her mouth like vomit. They just keep coming and coming. Garen gets a look of concern wondering if she is ever going to breath between words. "And then I ran into Annabelle on my way over here! It was great! I missed you! Well, I have to go say hi to everyone else still too!"\n\n[[Enter the inn, but trip up the stairs first|Inn]]
Wait, you're getting ahead of yourself now. We can't just go skipping off to Avalon just yet! Wait. Where is she going? Oh crap, well I guess we ARE skipping off to Avalon now...\n\nMable skips along the dirt paths on her way out of New Gleneden and runs into another halfling named Annabelle. Now, what you must know about Annabelle is that Mable looks up to her ever so much, she is the first person that she really got to know upon entering Avalon her first moon there. Everytime Mable sees her, she checks to see if Annabelle's still wearing her green button necklace that Mable gave her, a smile spreads across her face everytime she sees it. [[Attack hug!|Hugs]] or [[Sing song a hello~|Hello]]
Mable bounded up the stairs and her foot slipped off of the first step and she landed face first on the steps. Garen reached out a hand but Mable bounced right back up and smiled brightly and continued up to the stairs, but spread her arms out like she was walking across a balancing beam.\n\nUpon entering the Five Lions Inn a feeling just washed over Mable. She could not physically hold back a smile if she tried (not that she would want to try). A feeling of joy spilled out of the inn as everyone greeted each other and hugs were exchanged. Mable stopped in the doorway and a lost look settled upon her face. [[Greet the Elves|Elves]]
Mable ran with everyone until they got to the other side of the circle of demons. They all looked furious. Everyone kept running, but Mable stopped. She stood there and they stared each other down for a moment.\n\n"Where's Mable?!" was a shriek heard from behind, it sounded like Wryn.\n\nMable whiped her head around and smiled knowing that they would be safe now. She could see everyone coming over the hill, there was Wyrn, Annabelle, Val, and even the Duke. Mable went to run up the hill, but felt a tug on her hair. An icy hand griped the top of her head. The looks of relief on her friends faces fadeed quickly. The cool edge of a blade pressed against her neck.\n\n"Let's see that pompous lard defend you now," a demon spat out venomously.\n\nMable felt a heavy pressure on her neck, and the last thing she saw was pure terror on the faces of everyone she loved.

Mable peeled her eyes open a crack and peered over the fluffy shoulder that was Garen, or the part of him she was hiding behind. She saw a large number of blue creatures. Not creatures, demons. Fear struck her deep in the pit of her stomach, that special place she reserved for the tastiest of cakes and cookies, her eyes widened and she went to stumble backwards. Sonya was directly behind her and grabbed onto her arm to steady her. No one broke eye contact with the demons.\n\nThey stood tall, towering over Mable (but that isn't hard to do).\n\n[[Run away|Run]] or [[Stand with your friends|friends]]
